Florida Chapter Delegation at the FMA

I would like our membership to know that our ACS Florida Chapter had a very successful FMA Delegation. This is primarily due to the hard work and excellent planning of Dr. Dobbertein, our Legislative Chair, and our very capable staff-thank you Stacy, Brian and Ryan!

2017 Legislative Days

The Florida Chapter Legislative Days will be held January 10-11, 2017 in Tallahassee. Attendees will learn about legislative issues affecting surgeons and their patients during a didactic speaker session then visit with legislators to advocate in the Capitol. Legislative Day Resident/Fellow Travel Grant

The Florida Chapter is offering up to four $250 travel grants for residents or fellows to attend the 2017 Legislative Day. The grant is intended to offset the travel expenses associated with attending the meeting in Tallahassee. Preference will be given to members of the Florida Chapter (Membership Class: Resident/Fellow). Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis until all grants have been awarded.

Congratulations to Dr. Armstrong

The Florida Medical Association held its annual meeting at the Disney Yacht Club in Orlando Florida on July 29-31, 2016. One of the Florida Chapter’s members, and current Treasurer, John H. Armstrong, MD, FACS, was presented with the FMA’s Distinguished Service Award and the Professionals Resource Network (PRN) Award of Merit.
