According to the American College of Surgeons, "State legislatures are often seen as local laboratories of change, coming up with unique solutions to unique problems—and meeting the needs of citizens in a way that Congress cannot. It is certainly true that the actions of state legislatures have a direct impact on surgeons and the practice of surgery, making it even more important that surgeons be involved in grassroots advocacy."
Please join us on November 12-13 for our upcoming Advocacy Days. This event provides members who are new to advocacy and the legislative process an important opportunity to go to Tallahassee and see the process in action. Simultaneously, this event is used to schedule visits with legislators to educate them on surgical issues and how they can help protect patients.
