The Raymond H. Alexander, MD Award is awarded to a member of the Florida Chapter, American College of Surgeons for outstanding dedication to the medical profession in the field of surgery through excellence in the awardees’ display of at least one of the following criteria:

Solicitation of Candidates
The Raymond H. Alexander, MD Award will solicit recommendations from the membership of the Florida Chapter, American College of Surgeons for award consideration. The window for solicitation will open annually one week before the All-Florida Reception at the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress and remain open for 90 days.
Frequency
The Raymond H. Alexander, MD Award may be considered annually but is not required to be awarded by the Nominating Committee each year. There shall only be one physician awarded with the Raymond H. Alexander, MD Award at a time.
Selection Committee
The Raymond H. Alexander, MD Award will be selected by the Florida Chapter, American College of Surgeons Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee need not select an awardee from the recommendations submitted by the Florida Chapter, American College of Surgeons membership.
